Initially PLD London was formed to raise funds so as to sponsor
the Children's education in Nigeria.
Pro Labore Dei website
A web site was then developed so that those who are in the world but not have
the privilege of hearing the word of God can log on to the web and read some of Sister
Stella Maris's sermon as directed by the Spirit of the Lord. This web site
is growing everyday to encompass all the aspect of Pro Labore Dei's work.
PLD London Prayer Meeting every Thursday
Then when the Lord granted us the privilege for Sister Stella Maris to visit us
here in London I started going from one prayer group to another so that I
could find a group for her to proclaim the work of the Lord to as well as
minister to.
After going to various meetings I still failed to find the right group so
instead PLD London prayer group was started and our first meeting was on
Thursday 1st of August 2002.
We were about ten or twelve on that first meeting. I had what to say all typed
up but it came to a point that I put my paper down and spoke from my head which
turned out to be the Lord passing His word to the people through my mouth.
At the end of first meeting we spoke about how often we should meet. In my head
I just wanted once a month but again the Lord took over and spoke through the
people that HE wanted the meeting every week and so it has been since.
In total we have about twenty-one members that attends the meeting with fourteen
people being the average every week.
The Lord continues to speak to His people and we have various testimonies
with spiritual healing and growth being the main one. We have also been
privilege to perceiving Mother Mary's perfume.
Well all those who comes to the prayer feel the
change including an ex PLD London Prayer member until he experienced Ibadan
vigil and now feels that what we have is not a true fellowship compare to PLD
Ibadan. For those of us remaining we are becoming a stronger family of Christ
just like the Christian family of old and we love it.
Our once a week meeting is not just another prayer group or bible reflection
group but a training ground for the race of life we are all in - the race, which
the final goal is the Kingdom of God. So that all who come to the meeting but
not members can also get their passport, visa and ticket to the Kingdom we have
introduced the concept of everyone doing some work of mercy so as to put into
practice what they have learnt from the Book of His Word.
PLD London members
While Sister Stella Maris was with us here in London the first PLD London member
was formed and we had our first meeting. Initially we were five and now we are
eight.
PLD London Work
We are feeding one hundred and twenty homeless people on the street four
days a week and this has been very rewarding.
We hope this year to be feeding more as well as do some more work for the Lord.
Some of the works we are looking at are:
· Prison apostolate
· Helping the elderly
· Starting a Youth group
· Helping the sick
And any other work which the Lord directs us to do.
In August 2003 Pro Labore Dei expanded beyond London. We bought our own house in
Luton hence the work expanded to Luton area.
We had our first Friday of October Vigil at the house, which Sr. Stella-Maris
was present. We also had mass said after the vigil. Our first prayer meeting at
the house was on the 9th of October 2003.
Our prayer is for the Lord to lead us to His people who are in need of our help
and may His name be Glorified.
